Job Title: Injection Moulding Technician/Die Setter

GARON Plastics, a state-of-the-art injection moulding facility, is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Technician/Die Setter for its production facility in Edwardstown, SA. The successful candidate will be responsible for die-setting moulding machines, trouble shooting, and optimizing moulds/tools, performing checks and readjustments of machines, as necessary. The candidate will also be responsible for machine maintenance, technical fault finding, and correcting faults.
Requirements:
- Relevant Trade qualifications and plastics experience required.
- Extensive and demonstrated Die-setting and trouble shooting.
- Understanding of how to conduct tool trials.
- Proven experience with moulding and machine robots.
- Understand systematic approach to die trials.
- Previous experience with a manufacturing execution system (MES)
- Proven record of mechanical aptitude
- Patient, with attention to detail, able to work methodically, accurately, neatly, and efficiently.
- Good verbal and written skills, understanding of OH & S laws to run equipment safely.
- The ability to influence outcomes and be a solid team member.
- Ability to lead a team.
- A "can do" and "hands on" proactive attitude.
- Reliable, a team player, strong work ethic, able to work autonomously.
- Forklift HRW License or the ability to get one.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of moulds and their set up.
- Die-setting moulding machines including start-ups and shutdowns and working with machine Robots.
- Confident tool changing ability, trouble shooting, and optimizing moulds/tools, performing checks and readjustment of machines as necessary.
- A quick response to breakdowns, technical fault finding, and correcting faults and machine maintenance.
- Shift work required when necessary for work on afternoon or night shift.
- Relieve other Die Setters on leave (afternoon or night shift and work overtime as needed (ad hoc)
- Understanding of various commodity and engineering ploymers.
