A lovely professional family in Mulgrave, Victoria are seeking a calm, nurturing and reliable nanny to take care of their 2 girls (5 yrs and a 11 weeks old).
The days and normal hours are 5 days - 25 hours per week (negotiable)
Monday to Friday
7am - 9am & 3pm - 6pm
(Negotiable on hours and days for the right candidate)
Full days can be offered in the school holidays (At least 3 days per week) This would be negotiated in advance of each school holiday.
Additionally occasional weekend and evening hours by prior, mutual agreement
An ideal nanny will be calm and nurturing with excellent communication skills.
A nanny that is proactive, has a genuine love of children and can dedicate their time to the children. The nanny will need to follow the children’s routines, stick to firm boundaries and assist with the running of the household.
Previous experience with younger babies including feeding, cleaning bottles and feeding equipment is required for this role along with also experience caring for preschoolers/primary age.
The family is looking for a nanny who adapts well, is empathetic, respectful, responsible and safe. You will need to be reliable and punctual and can commit to the role on a long term basis, building a lovely relationship with the whole family.
The morning shift will involve getting the girls ready for the day and dropping the eldest to school. The afternoon shift will involve pick up, meal prep, light household duties, playing with the girls and homework assistance.
At times the morning shift will be sole charge of one (or both) girls, majority of the time at least 1 parent will be home to assist with these tasks.
In a few months when Mum has finished maternity leave and the youngest starts childcare the daily tasks may change (This will be negotiated in advance).
The nanny’s responsibilities for this role will be as follows –
- Care for the children
- Provide structure and routine
- Engage and play fun age appropriate activities
- Drop off and Pick up of the eldest child
- Homework assistance (Basic homework tasks (e.g., reading, spelling). projects) is highly desirable.
- Prepare meals and snacks for the children and family meal prep.
- Light household duties ie clearing of surfaces and keeping main areas tidy( Clearing up after the girls) empty /stack dishwasher, put toys away, washing/sterilising bottles etc.
- Laundry - Bringing in clean washing from the line and or filling or emptying the dryer.
The family’s expectations from their nanny are –
- Minimum of 2 years nanny experience or worked in centre based childcare
- Have a current first aid certificate (or happy to obtain one)
- Have a current working with children’s check number
- Current Police Check
- Display strong communication skills and speak fluent english
- Non smoking
- Up to date with all vaccinations (Including Covid, Influenza and whooping cough)
- Able to cook and prepare simple pre planned meals
- Full Drivers Licence, clean driving record and own car (Mileage to be reimbursed and the family is happy to contribute to the car running costs for the right person
