Children’s Health Services – Junior School

Ranging from 0.2 – 0.7 FTE 

Aquinas College is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition servicing in excess of 1,300 local, country and international boys.  Aquinas College has a rich history within Western Australia education and a reputation of producing outstanding young men.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? Do you possess skills in counselling, social work, speech pathology, occupational therapy, behavioural support or related fields? We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates to join our newly developing multidisciplinary team to support students in the Junior School community.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students.
• Provide individual or group counselling sessions to address social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
• Conduct assessments and develop tailored intervention plans to support students' specific needs.
• Implement strategies to enhance communication and language skills in students.
• Support students in developing fine motor skills and sensory processing abilities and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and adjust intervention plans accordingly.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute expertise to collaborative decision-making processes.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in counselling, social work, speech pathology, occupational therapy, or related fields.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or clinical setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of relevant assessment tools and therapeutic techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of child development and learning theories.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
