In the Australasian region Smit Lamnalco owns or operates 42 vessels, covering the majority of east coast ports, as well as maintaining a significant presence in PNG.

Smit Lamnalco Australia is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified seafarers (multiple positions)  for its upcoming emergency towage capability vessel. This will be a Cairns-based vessel, replacing the Coral Knight, which provides emergency towage capability and supports aids to navigation in the Northern Great Barrier Reef area.

We need qualified seafarers for the following roles:

• Master – Master <3000 GT
• Chief Officer – Chief Mate <3000 GT
• Second Officer – Watchkeeper Deck
• Third Officer – Watchkeeper Deck
• Chief Engineer – Engineer Class 1 (Motor)
• Second Engineer – Engineer Class 2 (Motor)
• Third Engineer – Engine Watchkeeper (Motor)
• Integrated Rating or Navigational Watch Rating or Engine Room Watch Rating
• Cook – Marine Cook

The following additional qualifications will be highly regarded:

• - DP Operator
• - DP Maintenance
• - Confined Space
• - Working at Heights
• - Fast Rescue Craft
• - Crane Operator
• - Dogging/Rigging

Training/familiarisation will commence in early June 2024 with operations to commence. on 1 July 2024.
