About Pedare:
Pedare is a coeducational Anglican and Uniting Church school comprising of Junior (R-5), Middle (Years 6-9) and Senior (Years 10-12) based in Golden Grove. We are committed to developing young people to make a difference in our global community and passionate about providing our students with the best education and learning curriculum. Here at Pedare we have been operating since 1986 and we have over 1,100 students.
The Middle and Senior School at Pedare caters for over 800 students in Years 6 to 12 and uses the IB MYP framework, Australian Curriculum and SACE for curriculum delivery. We take pride in knowing and understanding each of our students, their learning and their interests. As strengths are recognised we strive to support and enhance them whilst maintaining balance and providing a range of opportunities in a variety of disciplines. We recognize that not all students have the same needs, therefore, we have established a dedicated diverse learning program where it provides direct and timely assistance to students who require additional learnings requirements under the teacher remit.
The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Music Teacher to join our College for Term 2, 2024 on a full-time, contract basis. The successful candidate will teach years 6 -11 music. Reporting to the Head of Middle School and working alongside the Director of Music, this Teacher will be highly motivated with a clear understanding and passion for teaching music.
The role:
Experience in teaching music will be highly regarded
A thorough knowledge of the subject matter to enable the course objectives to be taught
Set programmes and lesson objectives based on the subject syllabus and within the ACARA and SACE Guidelines
Use and maintain resources used in the teaching programme
Apply effective behaviour management techniques consistent with the College’s Student Engagement and Relationships Policy
Have knowledge of and advise students of the College’s various policies and procedures
Encourage students to meet expectations for appropriate behaviour and demonstrate the same
Deal with students in a courteous, firm, consistent and fair manner at all times
Take responsibility for managing inappropriate student behaviour
Be punctual, manage time, lesson-planning, and assessment schedules efficiently
Some out of hours may be required due to role requirements
Willingness to participate in extra curricular is encouraged
What we need:
A current South Australian Working with Child Check (WWCC)
Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and neglect (RRHAN)
Current Teacher Registration Certificate in South Australia
First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferable)
Academic Transcripts and Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates
All certificates and qualification must be provided to the College prior to commencement of employment; and the College requests the applicant to disclose any information relevant to their eligibility to engage in activities involving children and young people.
