The Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.
WCHN Disability Services aims to provide best practice in health service delivery. We do this by working collaboratively to provide support to the child and family, liaising with health professionals and community service partners to maintain the health and wellbeing of children with complex healthcare needs and/or a disability. The Opportunity
Multiple exciting opportunities exist to join the Disability Services Team as Play Helper, WHA2 on a casual contract.
You will facilitate child-related play activities and provide support for children with additional needs while parents participate in activities and discussions. This will include setting up an appropriate environment and the preparation of play and learning materials for children.
You will contribute to a team environment that promotes positivity, learning and development, safety and welfare of employees, acknowledge differences and encourage creativity, innovation and honesty.

About You
With proven capacity to work with children with special needs, you will have the ability to relate well to children and their parents from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances.
You will have an up to date First Aid Certificate, and work well as part of a team, willing to provide assistance and cooperation to other staff at all levels. Creative and demonstrating initiative, you will bring the ability to perform work as instructed, under general direction and exercise limited judgment in the day to day execution of the role.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills will be essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
