About the role:
The role is primarily responsible for providing specialist expertise to ensure WHS compliance that reduces workplace incidents. This role drives strategic and operational strategies and continual improvement to ensure compliance and best practice measures are implemented nationally, across WH&S, Workers Compensation and injury management.
- Oversees, develops, and maintains Work, Health & Safety programs, ensuring all are implemented across the organisation.
- Develops and implements WH&S compliance policies and SOPs
- Write content and facilitate engaging WH&S compliance training for all operational and head office leaders.
- Project leads to national, annual initiatives and project plans.
- Ensures that WH&S, Workers Compensation and all other relevant legislation occurs nationally.
- Ensures ongoing monitoring, audits, investigations and records are kept up to date, in consultation with operational leaders.
- Provide any required follow up from on-site audits and training needs are actioned accordingly.
- Partners with operational leaders to ensure investigations, issue management and audits occur in line with the national WH&S strategy.
- Builds internal relationships to actively reinforce and promote a work, health & safety culture.
- Lead investigations into accidents, assess options, provide advice and follow-up to ensure full case closure and ensure safety controls are in place.
- Manage return-to-work programs with operational leaders to ensure best practice recovery and premium minimisation.
- Manage all workers compensation claims to resolution.
To be successful:
- Qualification: Business degree or equivalent.
- Formal vocational or tertiary qualifications in Work, Health & Safety.
- Accreditation as a Return-to-Work Coordinator / WH&S Representative.
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Comprehensive & Up-to date knowledge of Work, Health & Safety legislation.
- Engaging facilitation & training skills with the ability to translate complex information into easy to understand and apply content.
