National Placement Director, Workplace Risk

Our Human Capital Solutions practice focuses on the provision of Consulting and Advisory services to our portfolio of valued corporate clients within Safety, Accident & Health, Life, Workers' Compensation, Private Health Insurance, Wealth and Human Capital Solutions specialisations.

Our Workplace Risk service offering continues to evolve as the workers' compensation landscape changes and our clients seek greater innovation in People Risk.

We are currently seeking a National Placement Director to lead the Aon Australia Broking function, that will focus exclusively on the workers' compensation risks emanating from our large National and Global & Corporate business across Australia. This role requires the strategy design and negotiation of workers' compensation insurance in the Australian market as well as engaging with our insurer partners, to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Involved in the design and placement of the risk transfer solutions of our larger clients, you'll play a key role in market and client engagement as well as advising internal key stakeholders on placement strategy to suit their clients' needs across a broad industry and product base. Negotiation, influence and relationship management capabilities are vital for this role.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Aon Sydney, Melbourne or Perth offices.

Aon is in the business of better decisions.

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day would look like:

  • Providing technical advice and direction to the National & Global Corporate segment with regards to workers' compensation.
  • Advising on strategy and tactics to ensure we achieve internal goals around revenue, margin, growth and client satisfaction.
  • Conducting negotiations with underwriters and executives within our carrier partners
  • Implementing and providing input into our market engagement strategies
  • Provide guidance around improving policy structures and wordings.
  • Create and share insights with clients, carriers and colleagues from Aon's data & analytics platforms.
  • Providing technical advice to Aon's Product Design and Development team on the continued development of our trading platforms
  • Oversee the coordinated delivery of renewals by Workplace Risk and their administrative support teams.
  • Strategic Account Manager on nominated accounts.
  • Development and delivery of internal product training
  • Identifying risk improvement opportunities within our existing clients and leveraging our Workplace Risk consulting team, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Networking with our internal brokers.
  • Supporting the new business team with growth opportunities

Here at Aon, you're always more than just a job title. We encourage and support you to expand your knowledge and grow alongside some of the best people in the business - in Australia and throughout our connected global networks.

Skills and experience that will lead to success.

  • An in-depth understanding of all workers' compensation products, including excess of loss and policy wordings.

  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills.
  • A strong personality that can work in an ever-changing and fluid role.
  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations on solutions that are consistent with the goals set by the Workplace Risk Director.
  • Strong external network at all levels and demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with insurers and Regulators.
