About the role 

We currently have an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for an established Service Engineer experienced in X-Ray and Angiography to join our Service team as a National Service Specialist

Whilst the position is nominally based in Melbourne, there is some flexibility. Candidates with strong credentials based in other locations will be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a community of highly skilled Engineers across Australia and New Zealand servicing a broad range of customers including Public and Private Hospitals and Diagnostic Imaging Centres. 

In this role you will provide guidance, governance, monitoring, and control of Canon Medical’s X-Ray and Angiography equipment service support, to ensure that customer expectations are correctly defined and delivered. 

To meet our customers’ requirements, some overtime and weekend work will be required. Intra-state, inter-state and overseas travel will be required for work tasks and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and service of medical imaging equipment.
  • Complete relevant training and obtain required licenses. 
  • Plan and lead installations. 
  • Provide technical escalation resources for sales and applications staff, as well as lead other staff as required.
  • Review service procedures and advise Service Management accordingly.
  • Train staff as required to ensure engineer competence and customer satisfaction. 
  • Provide technical support to colleagues by phone, on-site and remotely in a timely manner.
  • Lead service standards, methods and administration for the organisation.
  • Be the technical liaison with vendors, company headquarters (CMSC) and others on behalf of the organisation as the technical specialist.
  • Perform monitoring and reporting tasks as required.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in electronic, electrical, biomedical or computing engineering
  • 6+ years’ X-Ray & Angiography service experience
  • 8+ years’ experience servicing electronic, electrical, biomedical or computing equipment
  • 3+ years technical support role for other engineers
  • Radiation licence
  • Driver’s licence
  • Certification / compliance / CRE licence
  • WHS certification
  • Electrical licence
  • An ability to travel across Australia, New Zealand and overseas for the role
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent customer service skills
