Job Description
The National Track Inspector is a new position at SCT Logistics which is responsible for SCT's rail track infrastructure assets being maintained to the required standards across various SCT sites. The role is to develop plans and work programs with a strong focus on Safety.
Reporting to the General Manager, Rail Terminals the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate capability in the required areas:
- Planning and conducting asset condition inspections, prioritising defects, arranging emergency responses as required and arranging entry of inspection results into the defect management system.
- Monitoring information in the Track Condition Management System and ensuring accuracy is maintained.
- Determining appropriate treatment, scheduling actions and preparing drafts.
- Managing all works performed by contractors within the area of responsibility.
- Ensuring safe passage of trains for sections of track within allocated area of responsibility.
- Developing Rail Terminal manager's knowledge regarding their rail yard infrastructure.
Important Note: Regular travel to Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth will be required.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Qualifications & Licences
- Ability to pass a Rail CAT 3 Medical
- Australian Car Licence
- Certificate 2 in Rail Infrastructure plus the following 4 units.
- TLIB3094 Check and repair track geometry
- TLIB3095 Check and repair points and crossings
- TLIB3099 Examine track infrastructure
- TLIB3100 Visually inspect track infrastructure
Desirable
- First Aid / CPR qualification
- Hold an ARC - TAP card or ability to obtain one
Experience
- Previous experience as a Track Inspector or similar role
- Substantial level of skills in identification of track infrastructure maintenance requirements
Other important information
