Wandiyali is an Aboriginal community organisation supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter Region, and Port Stephens. Every year, Wandiyali assists hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members through the delivery of its services.

Required Qualifications, skills and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or related discipline or equivalent industry related experience in the Field of Child Protection / NDIA / Criminal/ Statutory investigations.
- Identifies as Aboriginal or/and Torres Strait Islander or have proven knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community.
- Excellent verbal communication and rapport building skills.
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to write comprehensive evidence-based recommendations and reasons for decisions.
- Relevant experience working with Children and Young People
- Strong client focus, with ability to effectively communicate with a range of personalities and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing investigations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess and manage risk within legislative requirements.
- Capacity to work autonomously in a busy environment to achieve positive outcomes and a positive workplace culture.
- Demonstrated capacity for self-management, which includes accepting responsibility for own actions; focuses on the most important goals; has a realistic and balanced view of own strengths and development opportunities; recognises own feelings and personal prejudices and understands why they occur.
