We are seeking a talented Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. As part of the Congestion Busting Program, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering cutting-edge digital solutions that enhance user experience and drive efficiency.

Your new company 
Work for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. A large Federal Government Department, based out of Canberra's CBD, with access to plenty of public parking and transport options. When you're not working out of their new and modern office, you'll be taking advantage of the Department's flexible WFH arrangements that may see you working from home up to 60% of the time!

Your new role 
Work within The Digital Business Division (DBD), which has been established to bring together the retail digital functions from the wider Agricultural Trade Group with the purpose of creating a range of efficiencies in delivering best in class digital and data products. The division is responsible for a suite of mission-critical systems and services. 
You'll work across multiple of these functions by:

Providing technical leadership on large, complex projects.

Design, optimise, and improve software solutions aligned with user needs.

Write secure, well-tested code.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Monitor and troubleshoot production services.

Develop both frontend and backend solutions.

What you'll need to succeed 
You'll need a current Baseline security clearance, and the following technical experience:

Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Azure).

Strong experience with React.js (client-side) and Node.js/Express.js (backend).

Familiarity with other JS tools and libraries (e.g., Webpack, Babel, Jasmine).

Knowledge of web security best practices.
