About the opportunity

The Network Security Administrator reports to the Network team Leader and is part of the team responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to deliver Network solutions that align with CASA’s strategic requirements.

The role works in collaboration with the wider Information Technology branch to deliver and support network services to CASA and our external customers. 

As the role supports critical network operations, there is occasional out of hours work and a rostered on-call component, which will support CASA’s day to day business needs.

In addition to the Network and Network Security focussed activities, this role is responsible for supporting ICT facilities oversight such as Data Centres and physical cabling within CASA offices. As such, this position plays a key role, in conjunction with the CASA Property team, during office refit, uplift and relocation activities.

The Network Administrator is responsible for the following deliverables, which represent an ongoing body of work:

·     Assisting with the support, troubleshooting and uplift of CASA Network services.

·     Contributing to the planning and execution of new projects/initiatives including transition into operations

·     Contributing to the preparing of submissions to the Change Advisory Board and other governance forums

·     Organizing and prioritizing work in alignment with the Network Operations team workplan

·     Monitoring work queues to ensure incidents and requests are actioned in line with service level agreements.

·     Ensuring documentation and standard operating procedures are maintained and updated.

·     Contributing to continual service improvement within the Network operations team

·     Supporting the network team leader during planning and execution of office uplift and/or relocation activities.

·     Should be supportive to be on On-Call rosters.

·     Should be available to work after work hours when needed.

·      Work supportively and cooperatively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes.

·     Other duties as required.

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:

·     Must have at least 5 years of Network security experience ( Firewalls ).

·     Demonstrated experience in the design, configuration and operation of ICT networking and communications equipment.

·     Demonstrated experience in use of Network monitoring and control systems

·     Demonstrated experience in the design, configuration and operation of Network security systems (e.g. Firewalls and/or Web Access Firewalls). Preference will be give to people with Fortinet firewall experience.

·     Should be good in VISIO and technical documentation ( this is essential)

·     Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

·     Highly developed written and oral communication skills, particularly in discussing technical matters with non-technical people

·     Demonstrated delivery, support and service improvement experience in the following technical areas:

o  HP and/or Cisco routing and switching;

o  Fortinet or similar firewall, networking and wireless devices;

o  Web Access Firewalls (WAFs);

o  Microsoft Azure Networking;

·     Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.)

·     Promotion of workplace safety, equity and diversity, and act in accordance with the CASA Values and Behaviours.

The following ideal candidate requirements are desirable:

·      Network Security degree or industry certifications

Eligibility requirements

Employment with CASA is subject to conditions prescribed within the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The following eligibility requirements apply to this position: 

·      At minimum, prospective CASA employees must undergo pre-employment screening. You must be willing to provide required information to successfully undergo a police record check.

·      Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

·      Currently holds a Commonwealth security clearance to Baseline or have the ability to obtain and hold a clearance at this level.
