Let’s look under the hood:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud and networking strategies to optimize performance, security, availability and scalability.
- Configure and manage virtual networks, subnets, gateways, and VPN connections to facilitate secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and applications.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement security controls and compliance measures to protect cloud-based assets and data.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud computing, networking, and cybersecurity.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years experience in ICT roles with 5+ years demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing network and Azure cloud solutions.
- Proficiency in networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and zero trust.
- Hands-on experience with networking services, including virtual network, firewall, load balancer, VPN gateway, and WiFi configuration.
- Knowledge of DevOps processes and deploying services as code (e.g. Bicep)
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-700 or AZ-500 at minimum, or equivalent networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
In addition to technical proficiency, effective communication with key stakeholders is essential. This involves building strong working relationships internally and externally. The role may require 2nd and 3rd level support during and outside standard business hours.
