Are you ready to join a dynamic team at the forefront of innovation in the Global Energy sector? We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer with Rail Experience to work on a major green energy project based in the Eastern Metropolitan Perth area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Implementation: Craft robust and scalable network architectures for rail onboard systems, ensuring reliable connectivity.
  • Blueprint Development: Create detailed network blueprints and standards for secure onboard communication systems.
  • IT/OT Integration: Facilitate seamless communication between onboard and ground-based systems by integrating IT and OT systems.
  • Cybersecurity: Develop and enforce strategies for IT/OT convergence, implementing robust cybersecurity measures.
  • Infrastructure Deployment: Install and manage network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, on rail vehicles.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as NIST800-160 and ISO27001.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, OT, and rail operations teams to deliver integrated network solutions.
  • Technical Support & Training: Provide expert support and training on network systems and IT/OT integration.
  • Risk & Threat Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and threat and vulnerability assessments for onboard architecture.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Network Engineering and architecture, preferably in the rail or transportation industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points) and hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Layer 2, Layer 3 networking config, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, CAN bus, DDS, SafeDDS).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of rail industry standards and regulations related to network and cybersecurity, including AS 7770 and TS 5070.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CISSP are a plus.
  • Cloud Expertise: Experience with the AWS cloud platform is highly advantageous.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
