About the role
We are looking for a LTE RAN Engineer to join our dynamic, collaborative environment and be a part of our global Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) Network Platforms Team.
Reporting to the Superintendent Network Platforms, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of our critical production systems. You’ll be maintaining RF conditions and RF performance of eNodeB clusters and supporting LTE coverage modelling using ATDI HTZ or similar RF Planning software like Atoll or Mentum Planet. You will also be generating cartographic data for use with LTE RF Planning software and analysing drive test data using TEMS Device Discovery or similar tool like Actix, Nemo Analyzer, Gladiator G-Station. You'll collaborate closely with diverse teams to provide expert technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, manage configuration parameters of Nokia LTE macro and micro eNodeB hardware using LTE Network Management Systems, and implement innovative solutions that directly influence our mining and production processes. Your contributions will be instrumental in maintaining our unwavering commitment to operational excellence, safety, and sustainable practices. Playing a critical role in improving existing platform environments, you will apply agreed standards, governance, guidelines, patterns, and tools, and be key in proactively mitigating operational technology (OT) incidents to all information technology related issues from our iron ore Pilbara mines and control centre.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, applicants will have:
  • Expertise: Your experience with GIS concepts and generating cartographic data for use with LTE RF Planning software. Your expertise in main equipment vendors such as Nokia, LTE EPC systems and protocols – GTP, Diameter, IP, Radius, HSS, MME, SGW, PGW, signalling trace/analysis, IMS, VoLTE, LTE Network Management Systems aka NetAct will be essential in maintaining LTE KPIs, Performance Management, Configuration Management and Fault Management.
  • Collaboration: Your effective communication and teamwork skills will be pivotal as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic IT solutions, enhance efficiency, and meet production objectives.
  • Agile and DevOps Mindset: Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices will empower you to drive continuous improvement and innovation across operational technology landscapes.
  • Automation Skills: Proficiency in automation and scripting tools will enable you to streamline processes, reduce manual interventions, and elevate system efficiency.
  • ITIL Framework: You'll apply your understanding of the ITIL framework and IT service management practices to ensure efficient incident, problem, and change management.
  • Problem-Solving: Your exceptional problem-solving abilities will shine as you proactively identify potential issues, devise preventive measures, and mitigate operational incidents.
Desirable:
Minimum 5 Years telecommunications-based experience within a large enterprise/carrier or integrator. Mining, Industrial/Oil and Gas or manufacturing experience preferred.
