About Mary Guthrie House:
A unique, state-wide multi-component nueropsychiatry unit providing individualised, slow stream recovery support to adults with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or neurodegenerative condition, and associated mental illness, including responsive behaviours. The unit has a neuropsychiatric rehabilitation focus, working collaboratively with consumers to improve and maintain functional independence and to live their best life, as they define it.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical neuropsychologist to work within a specialist neuropsychiatry unit as part of a supportive, dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
A regular day will see you:
- Work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers and key stakeholders
- Contribute nuropsychology expertise within the mulitdisciplinary team
- Undertake comprehensive neurobehavioural assessments
- Develop and implement detailed positive behaviour support plans in close collaboration with the team
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated clinical experience in supporting consumers with acquired brain injury and mental health conditionsr
- Knowledge and experience in consumer centred care; supported decision making; and the recovery model
- High level understanding and experience in positive behaviour support techniques and interventions
