The Purpose:
This role is responsible for providing payment architecture expertise and governance for developing and enhancing the payment designs for the various products across the AP+, including Scheme product portfolios (including NPP and eftpos) and well as payment experiences (including digital wallet and QR). Role will make a valuable contribution towards defining scalable designs for the Australian payments landscape and enabling user experiences for the relevant payment products and services.
You will be responsible for:
- Co-designing and delivering the strategic reference architecture and roadmap that aligns to evolving business strategy, product strategy and enterprise architecture
- Provide thought leadership and drive the business, product and technology innovation agenda for payments
- Collaborate with product leadership across multiple lines of business to define a practical delivery roadmap that makes use of common capabilities where appropriate
- Provide guidance on application and solution architecture, engineering principles, and implementation of digital applications using existing and emerging technology platforms
- Manage pragmatic tradeoffs between spend to market, quality, financial and commercial impacts
- Perform architecture assurance of solution designs to ensure architectural and engineering quality
- Develop standards, patterns, and best practice for reuse and acceleration
- Ensure that all payment solutions are aligned with AP+ risk, security, data management and operational principles
- Contribute to the broader AP+ architecture community and actively participate in the improvement of the architecture and engineering practice
- Represent AP+ at various payment industry peak bodies and provide input to future scheme uplifts
In order for you to be successful in the role, you'll have:
- At least 10-12 years of information technology experiences.
- 5+ years working in payments solution and technology teams.
- 5 years working technology leadership capacity.
- Experience with payment vendor applications (e.g. FIS , Swift and paytec)
- A software architecture background with a strong appreciation of integration architecture.
- Deep knowledge of at least one payment scheme.
- Familiar with SWIFT ISO20022 and AS.2805 data dictionary and data governance.
- Expert knowledge of API development standards, micro-services and event driven IT architecture.
- Expert knowledge of building highly resilient multi-cloud solutions and deployment architecture options.
- Expert knowledge in modern design patterns and blueprinting practices.
- Strong knowledge of data exploitation and concepts.
- Strong knowledge of security, control, privacy and compliance in the financial services/payments domain.
- Strong knowledge of agile development experiences.
