With a commitment to innovation and excellence, we are seeking a talented NPD officer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with DJ&A directors to co-ordinate the development of new DJ&A products.
  • Ensure that all new product development (NPD) paperwork is processed and up to date.
  • Complete all necessary documentation including recipes, trials and product specifications. This includes nutritional analysis, shelf life testing, ingredients breakdown analysis, checking regulatory requirements and analysis on recipe reformulation or product changes.
  • Co-ordinating with key internal departments in the product development process including but not limited to:

     - The Manufacturing Department to develop product samples, create product specifications and run production trials.

    - The Quality Assurance Department to ensure product compliance and quality.

     - The Design Department for creation of product designs.

     - The Operations department to ensure all product specifications are uploaded onto company systems.

     - The Supply Department and Production departments to handover new products for ongoing ordering and/or production.

The Sales Department to inform them of new product availability and product details.

  • Sourcing new products.
  • Liaising with third party manufacturers to create new products.
  • Maintaining a product development list. 
  • Researching new product opportunities based on market trends and competitor analysis.
  • Any other tasks relevant to the Product Development role.

The successful candidate will have :

  • A University degree in food science and technology, with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of product development experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • FMCG experience is desirable.
  • HACCP training - Preferred but not essential.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a similar role (relevant qualifications will be advantageous to your application).
  • Experience with the following quality procedures in a food or beverage manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Can work fast and efficiently.
  • Good attention to detail.
