Position Title: Nuclear Medicine Scientist

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Hours per week: 38 hours

Position Grade: Nuclear Medicine Technician Level 2 (Year 1 - 5)

Salary: $73,473.46 to $101,211.59 base per annum

Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Health Employees Agreement 2019

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Theranostics and Nuclear Medicine Department. Within the framework of the Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy as well as the policies of St Vincent's Hospital Sydney Ltd. (SVHS), a Nuclear Medicine Scientist at this level has completed the supervised practice programme, or fourth year university degree equivalent, and obtained general registration through Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Nuclear Medicine Scientist who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people whom:

  • Demonstrate independent and significant professional knowledge and judgement when performing clinical tasks.
  • Take an active part in multidisciplinary teams and gain experience in the more complex Nuclear Medicine procedures including Quality Improvement / Assurance activities.
  • Is expected to provide a high level of patient care and continue to develop their knowledge regarding work place safety issues (e.g. Manual Handling, OH&S).
  • Demonstrate significant ongoing commitment to continuing education and participates in undergraduate student education and departmental in-service lecture

Selection Criteria

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.

2. Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science - Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Medical Radiation Practice Board (MRPB).

3. Current NSW EPA radiation licence under the Radiation Control Act 1990.

4. Completed the supervised practice programme, or fourth year university degree equivalent, and obtained general registration through Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

5. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisation outcomes.

6. Proven high level communication, interpersonal and decision making skills and the ability to solve complex problems.

7. Developed knowledge in the application of quality improvement, industrial, risk management and WH&S principles.

8. Demonstrated significant ongoing commitment to continuing education and willingness to participate in undergraduate student education and departmental in-service lectures.
