We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Numeracy Teacher to lead numeracy education at SPELD SA, part-time, 2 days per week. ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a dual role split between the Numeracy Clinic and Professional Learning. One day will be spent providing 1:1 intervention for students with maths difficulties in our numeracy clinic. The other will be to develop and deliver professional learning and workshops for educators, in the area of maths and maths difficulties.
Numeracy Clinic Consultant
- Plan and deliver numeracy intervention, providing 1:1 numeracy intervention, utilising quality programs and resources
- Develop learning intentions and monitor and record student progress
- Maintain administrative records, including use of Halaxy and Microsoft Teams
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support the client
Workshops Presenter
- Create and deliver workshops and professional learning in evidence-based numeracy instruction
- Provide guidance on the impacts of dyscalculia on student learning and appropriate interventions
Educational Consultant
- Provide support to educators, parents and other community members on appropriate programs and resources to support students in the area of maths.
- Review current shop and library items and recommend additional products.
- Assist marketing team where required to provide content and support for the development of newsletters and social media posts relating to numeracy
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience and a passion for teaching numeracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to maintain currency of educational knowledge, to ensure high quality and evidence-based practice
- Ability to work with students with complex needs
- Self-motivated and takes initiative
