Gunbalanya community offers exciting opportunities for experienced Primary Health Care Nurses to make a difference in the overall health of the Kunwinjku people of this community. The positions contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of families living in this west Arnhem community in the Top End. The primary objective of these dynamic positions is to work collaboratively with community members and the broader multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of preventative population health programs - adult health, maternal health, Healthy under 5’s, youth & adolescent health and management of chronic conditions. These roles contribute to community health action by targeting and improving health outcomes, promoting wellbeing, treating illness, maintaining health systems and provide education and training to community based workers and junior staff members.
The local Kunwinjku people are always willing to provide education, history, and sharing of cultural knowledge.
These positions offer an exciting experience living and working in friendly, well supported remote community in west Arnhem, There are many opportunities to enjoy camping, off road tracks and exploration of the region. Permits are available from the Traditional Owners and Local Community Councils.
