About the role
Ideally, you will come from a similar background and know that no two days are the same. Generally, you will
- Take responsibility for the care and wellbeing of residents and assist in the provision of resident care i.e. feeding, toileting, personal hygiene dressing, grooming, safe mobility etc. Ensure the comfort, privacy, dignity, and preferences of each resident are respected and maintained. Encourage and support residents to make own decisions.
- Continually monitor residents and report changes in health and condition to Registered Nurse.
- Assist in the implementation of planned individual resident programs i.e. preventative pressure area care, continence management, behaviour management, manual handling, nutrition/hydration management, leisure, lifestyle and wellbeing programmes, rehabilitation and prevention programmes etc.

- Previous experience in a personal care or aged care role (desirable)
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or a related discipline.
- Intermediate computer literacy.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards
- Knowledge of Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRs)
- Key to success in the position of Personal Care Worker is the ability to be proactive, self-driven and competent in managing their time effectively coupled with the ability to be adaptive and flexible to the changing needs of residents.
