We are currently recruiting for an, Occupational Hygiene Technician who will report directly into the Occupational Hygiene Advisor this role is being offered on a 5:2:4:3 roster.
This role will provide technical support to the Occupational Hygiene function on site, you will apply standard procedures and manage equipment/systems for ongoing maintenance of site OH programs. A day on site could look like:
- Conducting OH surveys on hazardous materials
- Maintain job information for site health risk assessments
- Effectively manage water monitoring activities to meet standards and regulatory schedules
- Participate in facilitating training in OH processes
- Maintain records and reports
- Participation in OH investigations as required
About you:
You will hold a territory qualification in Occupational Hygiene or Health and Safety as well as have a Certificate III in Surface Ventilation and Registered Noise Officer (or ability to obtain). You will ideally come with experience of working in a similar role (Occupational (Hygiene/HS Systems) and have knowledge having worked in the mining environment previously.
Other skills required include:
- Excellent report writing skills and a high attention to detail;
- Proficient use of MS Office software;
- Knowledge regarding Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene, Health and Safety management systems and a sound understanding and working knowledge of risk management;
- Demonstrates strong analytical, planning and conceptual skills
