About the role
As an experienced Occupational Therapist, you will be applying your significant clinical and leadership expertise to the development, delivery and continuous improvement of quality Occupational Therapy services. Operating within an acute multi-disciplinary service context, you will uphold professional standards and provide a quality service across the hospital. As a clinical leader, mentor and clinical supervisor at the HP3 level, you will provide clinical support and profession-specific supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapists in the team.
Your main duties will include:
- Managing the team of Occupational Therapists and reporting to the Allied Health Manager
- Providing comprehensive Occupational Therapy within the acute surgical, medical and rehabilitation wards, to inpatients and outpatients
- Maximising the occupational performance of patients, adopting a client-centred and goal directed approach
- Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Occupational Therapy Department and hospital
- Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings and professional development programs
- Providing support to the other Occupational Therapists, assistants and/or students
Requirements:
- Hold a relevant degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Excellent clinical practice skills
- Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills
- Autonomy in work practice
- Current drivers licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to conduct and provide recommendations based on home/access visits
