The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing interventions to support individuals in achieving their occupational goals and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional abilities, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial factors.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client goals, and evidence-based practice.
  3. Provide therapeutic interventions to address deficits and promote independence in activities of daily living, sensory processing, motor skills, and vocational pursuits.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and holistic support for clients.
  5. Monitor clients' progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  6. Educate clients, caregivers, and other stakeholders on strategies for managing challenges and maximizing participation in meaningful activities.
  7. Document all assessments, interventions, and progress notes in a clear, concise, and timely manner, in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
  8. Stay informed about advancements in occupational therapy practice and participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  9. Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with clients and their families.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration/licensure as an Occupational Therapist with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Previous experience working with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adults, and older adults, preferably in a community or disability services setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills, with a focus on person-centered care and goal attainment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and engage clients and families in the therapeutic process.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to the diverse needs of clients from various backgrounds and communities.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical guidelines and standards of practice.
