AddressMARS Recruitment are currently in search of an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic, wide-ranging, and committed therapy services provider in Canning Vale or Cockburn Central, WA.
Due to their excellent reputation and ongoing demand for their services, they are currently in search of an experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in early intervention to support children aged 1-14 years within the community and throughout Perth's southern suburbs.
This OT will support children of varying abilities and presentations, ensuring an engaging and holistic approach to therapy is provided, working collaboratively with families and guardians to help children achieve significant milestones!
You will have the opportunity to work in clinics and throughout the community, in schools, clients' homes and educational centres!
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- You will support children with motor, cognitive, social and emotional skills, and provide therapy support for children with developmental delays or disability, including autism spectrum disorder.
- You will develop holistic therapy plans within a multidisciplinary team and provide direct community, school based and home-based intervention and support programs.
- Provide both direct and indirect intervention using evidence based clinical reasoning
- Conduct assessments and evaluations using standardised and non standardised methods.
- Work with management in relation to ongoing development of processes and procedures to ensure for continued positive improvement.
- Seniors only: Mentoring of new graduate and student placement occupational therapists.
- Direct and indirect supervision and feedback of assessment and therapy sessions
Some of their specialties include:
- Early intervention for babies and toddlers.
- Specific therapeutic interventions for primary and high school students experiencing difficulties at school.
- Assisting children with sensory processing difficulties affecting their behaviour, play, independence and general development.
- Assisting families with babies & children with mealtime concerns.
- Working with children with a specific diagnosis eg. Autism/Aspergers, Cerebral Palsy, Dyspraxia, Fragile X, Downs Syndrome or global developmental delays.
The right candidate will be an Experienced or SeniorOccupational Therapist within the paediatric environment and will ideally possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
- Full & General registration with AHPRA.
- 2+ Years in Paediatric Allied Health.
- Police clearance and WWCC - or willingness to obtain.
- The ability to give children, their parents/guardians and teachers the practical strategies they need to successfully navigate the ups and downs of preschool, school and life.
- Demonstrated ability to support children with a variety of clinical needs, including motor coordination, sensory and emotional regulation challenges.
- Great people and communication skills.
