The Lower Hunter Occupational Therapy team are a group of friendly, innovative, passionate and patient focused OT's who are looking forward to having a new clinical educator as part of their team.

About the role
The Lower Hunter Occupational Therapy team is looking for a dynamic and passionate OT to join their team as the Clinical Educator for 2023. The clinical educator will be working with OTs across the Cessnock, Kurri Kurri and Maitland Hospitals and Community Health centres as well as the Occupational Therapy staff at the University of Newcastle. This position is well established within the Lower Hunter OT team and has facilitated many successful placements over the past few years.

Roles of the job include:

Co-ordination and support of University of Newcastle Occupational Therapy students on placement in Lower Hunter Sector

Responsible for the facility based teaching and support of students on placement

Regular communication with Site Senior OT’s within Lower Hunter Sector and other OTs within the relevant departments

Regular communication with the University of Newcastle Occupational Therapy staff regarding placement program and student progress

Assisting with practice education marking at the University of Newcastle

About You
We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and attributes:

Be able to teach the OTs of the future whilst on placement including developing and delivering education programs

Have excellent coordination and time management skills

Be able to work independently and prioritise tasks

Be able to provide feedback to students on placement

Be able to adapt teaching styles and communication if required

Be easily approachable for students, OTs, and University staff

Information for Applicants:

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
