Occupational Violence and Aggression Advisor
Permanent Full Time 80 hours per fortnight including ADO
About the role
Grampians Health (GH) is committed to an organisation-wide approach to prevent, minimise, and manage the impact of aggressive or violent situations that occur across the health service.
The role will be responsible for the implementation of a risk management framework for managing behaviours associated with Violence and Aggression. This includes provision of advice and development of strategies, plans and protocols for prevention and management of Violence and Aggression and the co-ordination and delivery of education and training across all areas of the health service.

  • Be the Grampians Health Ballarat subject matter expert and advisor in Occupational Violence and Aggression (OVA)
  • Work with clinical and non-clinical areas to identify and assess risk, recommend control measures, and evaluate outcomes associated with clinical aggression incidents, to reduce the likelihood of incident recurrence.
  • Lead and/or contribute to development and review of policies, protocols and subordinate documentation in areas related to management of Violence and Aggression.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in delivery of education and training programs in OVA throughout GH-Ballarat.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of training and education programs ensuring content and model of delivery is appropriate for the organisation.
  • Provide oversight to reported incidents relating to Violence and Aggression, identify trends and provide information and analyses for reporting purposes

  • Recognised qualifications in a health-related field e.g. Nursing or Allied Health
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, or equivalent or working towards completion.
  • Experience as a clinical aggression interventions trainer or specialist.

Selection Criteria
  • Essential : Do you have a recognised qualifications in a health-related field? If so, please attach in your application
  • Desirable : Do you currently have a certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment?
  • Essential : Do you have experience in developing, managing and delivering education programs?
  • Desirable : Demonstrated experience in application of management of clinical aggression intervention programs.
  • Essential : Computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Essential : Please detail your recent experience in a health care setting
  • Desirable : Please detail your experience as a clinical aggression interventions trainer or specialist.
  • Essential : Have you received three doses of a COVID19 vaccine? If no, please provide further detail regarding doses received, booking dates and/or other relevant information.
  • Essential : The successful candidate must hold, or be prepared to undergo, an employee Working with Children Check (WWCC). Please advise if you currently hold an employee WWCC, if not are you willing to undergo one?
