Applications Close: 30 May 2024This is a temporary full time position until 28 June 2026 with the possibility of extension.What you'll be doingThe role will provide specialist in reach to Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) for Mental Health assessment and short-term treatment for older people experiencing acute severe behavioral disturbance and psychological symptoms by preventing where possible the need for an inpatient admission. This position will be located within Shoalhaven Older People’s Mental Health Service, to enhance existing services to provide an assertive approach to referrals and consultation. The role will undertake comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, provide evidence based assertive treatment to Older Adults. Allied Health Professionals must have current registration with/or eligibility for membership of a relevant peak body professional association.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the ongoing review of Older Persons Mental Health clinical practice.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of complex client centered consultancy practice within a mixed clinical environment and / or across a series of services.
- Demonstrated experience of working with families and consumers in a community setting.
- Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation, and review of evidence based research.
- Evidence of a Class C driver's licence.
