We are Australia's largest specialty homewares retailer with over 250 stores nationally, and we're excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an Onboarding & Induction Coordinator to join our team at our Head Office on St Kilda Rd.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Onboarding & Induction Coordinator is a key member of the Payroll Team, also working closely with the National OHS Manager and the retail operations teams.
The role will be responsible for delivering an exceptional employee experience from onboarding, to generating employment contracts and supporting induction activities.
The role plays an integral part in onboarding new employees and creating and updating induction processes, while working to develop & implement strategies that will help ease the transition for new employees into the workplace.
This highly administrative role is perfect for someone who is interested in HR or looking to get some hands on experience in the industry.
Key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:
- Follow onboarding processes to ensure all administrative requisites are completed and comply with legal requirements
- Pre-employment checks such as Health Declarations and Visas, to ensure new employees meet fitness and immigration requirements
- Issue employment contracts, policies, and all other relevant documents
- Set up new employees in workforce management and payroll systems
- Address new employee queries regarding contracts and onboarding processes
- Provide system support to employees throughout the onboarding process
- Processing retail employee role changes
- Monitor and follow up on probation periods, temporary contracts, maternity leave, and Visa expiry’s
- Set up & maintenance of electronic employee files
- Work collaboratively with the OHS, Payroll, & Retail Operations teams to identify appropriate opportunities for continuous improvement
- Project work
- General management of administrative, support, and reporting duties as required
Requirements and skills:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, or a recent HR graduate/someone currently studying HR and wanting to gain experience in the industry
- Good working knowledge of HR practices, award interpretation, and employment conditions
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisation skills
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- An ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Strong teamwork skills
