A unique permanent full-time position has become available in Slade pharmacy team at the Epworth Hospital in Box Hill.
As an Oncology Pharmacist at Slade Box Hill, you will oversee the care of day oncology patients and medical oncology inpatients, including haematology patients. The role will also involve supporting the Box Hill pharmacy department and wider allied health team.
Hours of work are 38 hours Monday to Friday between our opening times of 8am-6pm.
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in the specialised field of oncology. Training will be provided to the successful candidate but an interest in this field and a passion for learning will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using ARIA, coordinate and organise the supply of chemotherapy for the day oncology unit patients and inpatients
- Perform medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
- Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
- Participate in clinical screening of chemotherapy orders
- Educate and counsel staff, patients and allied health professionals

As a registered pharmacist with Australian or New Zealand based pharmacy experience, you will have a team orientated attitude, a focus on delivering exceptional service and care to patients, and the ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals. You will be highly driven and have high attention to detail and a passion for building on your clinical skills and knowledge.
Hospital experience is essential (either in Australia or New Zealand) - prior oncology experience is highly desirable, and training will also be provided.
