OOSH Educators Casual & Permanent Part Time Positions Available

We are a well-known local Provider with 5 Services in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Areas. We pride ourselves on delivering quality and affordable childcare for over 13 years with the emphasis on both educator and family’s interests at the centre of our heart & focus. 

We provide safe and fun spaces for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 to learn, play and participate in social and recreational activities. As well as interacting and forming positive relationships within their environment. 

All our services provide Before School, After School and Vacation Care as well as our 2 newer services run from their school hall and large COLA/playground areas all Meeting the National Quality Standards. 

We are looking for energetic, passionate, confident, assertive, loyal, initiative and fun educators to join our already team of professional and friendly educators. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an OOSH Educator, you will be required to perform the following:

• Assist in planning a quality program based on children's current interests and interact with children whilst delivering the program.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations, service policies and procedures.
• Work within the requirements of the National Quality Standards and My Time, Our Place Framework including daily program evaluations.
• Provide a positive, safe and professional environment.
• Work collaboratively with all staff, children, families, schools and community.
• Developing relationships with families that use the centre.
• Preparation of food for the children
• Maintaining cleanliness of the centre
• Deliver active supervision.
• Be adaptable to move between all services or committed to one service pending on position roles and responsibilities.

Essential Requirements:

• Must have double vaccination against COVID -  19 to work on Department of Education sites
• Reliable own transport;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• An understanding of the developmental areas for children;
• Willingness to implement and contribute to the Company's Values, Vision and Mission Statement.

Formal Educations and Requirements:

Permanent Part Time - Cert 111 in Children’s Services, Diploma in OOSH OR Cert IV in OOSH OR Bachelor in Teaching (Primary) OR Bachelor in Teaching (Early Childhood.) OR working towards.

Casual – Students working towards OR other walks of life. 

• Current paid Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate or willing to obtain;
• Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children.

Preferred

• Experience working with children aged between 5 – 12 years.
• Intermediate computer and technology skills.

Permanent Part Time – 15 – 35 hours per week negotiable Monday to Friday 

BSC 6.30 – 9.00am ASC 2.00 – 6.0 0pm VC 6.30 am – 6.00 pm (on a needs basis)

Casual be available to fill a variety of shifts Monday to Friday BSC 6.30 – 9.00 am ASC 2.00 – 6.00 pm VC 6.30 am – 6.00 pm as per roster
