It’s about people.About the RoleThe Main Roads Network Operations Directorate is focussed on ensuring that all road users in the metropolitan state road network experience perfectly reliable journeys. As part of this, the Operational Modelling and Visualisation (OMV) team is the Operational Modelling centre of excellence in Western Australia and contributes to this outcome by ensuring a high standard of modelling is conducted for transport performance management and decision-making.Reporting to the Operational Modelling and Visualisation Manager, this role is responsible for developing and coordinating operational traffic and simulation models using a variety of suitable platforms, to optimise performance and analyse and report on traffic impacts on the road network.About YouTo be successful you will need to be an excellent transport modeller. You will need to understand traffic engineering and transport modelling principles and have hands-on experience of operational traffic Modelling and analysis. You will need to demonstrate your substantial skills, knowledge and experience using a variety of modelling software packages including LINSIG, SIDRA, SCATSIM, AIMSUN, VISSIM and VISUM and similar.Our customers are important to us, hence your natural ability to develop positive, proactive, and professional working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders will be critical to your success in the role.
