Full time position: $65,000 - $70,000/year + superannuation

About the Role

The Operations and Housekeeping Coordinator role ensures routine cleanliness and operational functions are completed across assigned Urban Rest properties and Hotel rooms. The Operations and Housekeeping Supervisor role is a hybrid role, dedicated to maintaining and promoting a positive image of the property to our guests by being hands on and managing the day to day operations from Housekeeping to Operational tasks across assigned zones. The successful candidate should maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all housekeeping and operational departmental policies/service and Urban Rest procedures/standards.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping Supervisor Functions:

  • Ensures daily cleans are being performed in accordance with brand standards
  • Continual train and develop team members to meet required standards in conjunction with National Housekeeping Manager
  • Ensure applicable checklist per clean or inspection(s) are adequately completed and recorded in the appropriate system
  • Enhance operations by actively participating in maintaining, reviewing and coordinating necessary stock movements into micro/macro warehouse locations for efficiency of team members
  • Coordinate jobs and tasks with consultation of the National Head of Housekeeping, ensuring assigned credits are adhered to by Housekeeping Service attendants
  • Monitor performance of attendants, ensuring misses, problems or potential impacts on guest experience is mitigated and corrective actions taken prior to the guests arrival
  • Maintain and execute high level of attention to detail as outlined by the National Housekeeping Manager
  • Ensure all relevant WHS, chemical handling and safety procedures and adhered by relevant team members
  • Complete apartment/room cleans where required operationally to a high standard
  • Ensure linen, guest amenities and decor is of brand standard
  • Manage reject linen with attendants, National Housekeeping Manager and supply chain manager
  • Report damages to stock, apartments/rooms or furniture to the relevant manager for resolution
  • Ensure security of assigned units and privacy of guests
  • Perform and oversee rotation cleaning duties where required operationally (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, periodic cleaning etc.) as required
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day

Operations:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager to complete daily tasks across our Melbourne properties
  • Monitor operational / ticketing systems to ensure all on-site tasks are assigned and completed within specified timeframes and deadlines
  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks using hand tools such as assembling furniture, hanging artwork and minor ad-hoc jobs
  • Carry out regular property inspections/audits ensuring our properties are operating and performing their best
  • Reporting any issues within our properties and ensuring they are dealt with promptly
  • Source parts/materials and maintain inventory levels
  • Assist the Operations and Fit- out team with onboarding new properties including organising furniture and appliance deliveries and final set up tasks when required
  • Travel to various buildings as required
  • Working alongside the greater Operations team to assist and support business requirements, including supporting projects to improve operational efficiency and guest experience
  • Liaise with external contractors, stakeholders, property managers and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
