Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and management to the factory‐based team, drive productivity, quality, and safety targets, and operational improvement.
- Lead and coach on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost and waste and improve productivity and quality.
- Educate, coach and facilitate operational expectations, and lead change initiatives through managers / supervisors to deliver on all operational KPI's.
- Manage and report on plant performance, including but not limited to, production efficiencies and costs.
- Lead and coach the team in compliance and operational improvements across health and safety, quality, maintenance and production functions.
- Preparation of monthly reports detailing business performance and progress on the implementation and execution of operational efficiency plans
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position ideally within a food processing environment
- Ability to drive change and achieve excellent results through effective leadership, with a focus on cultural improvement and increasing employee engagement.
- Understanding and compliance of occupational health, safety & environmental, and quality legislation
- Experience in implementing continuous improvement / lean practices.
- Experience in production planning processes.
- Logical, analytical, with superior problem‐solving abilities
- Strong commercial awareness and an ability to communicate at all levels in the business.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse cool room/ freezer environment and has knowledge of the foodservice industry.
- Must have forklift license.
- HR license an advantage.
- Must adhere to strict HACCP & Food handling guidelines.
