Operations / Inventory Manager

Better Choice Fisheries is one of Australia’s largest privately owned seafood wholesale and processing companies. Offering a diverse range of fresh and frozen seafood to a variety of customers, including major supermarkets, Restaurants, Cafe's, Clubs, Hotels and Seafood outlets. As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Operations & Inventory Manager to join our team and contribute to our journey.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and management to the factory‐based team, drive productivity, quality, and safety targets, and operational improvement.
• Lead and coach on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost and waste and improve productivity and quality.
• Educate, coach and facilitate operational expectations, and lead change initiatives through managers / supervisors to deliver on all operational KPI's.
• Manage and report on plant performance, including but not limited to, production efficiencies and costs.
• Lead and coach the team in compliance and operational improvements across health and safety, quality, maintenance and production functions.
• Preparation of monthly reports detailing business performance and progress on the implementation and execution of operational efficiency plans

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position ideally within a food processing environment
• Ability to drive change and achieve excellent results through effective leadership, with a focus on cultural improvement and increasing employee engagement.
• Understanding and compliance of occupational health, safety & environmental, and quality legislation
• Experience in implementing continuous improvement / lean practices.
• Experience in production planning processes.
• Logical, analytical, with superior problem‐solving abilities
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to communicate at all levels in the business.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse cool room/ freezer environment and has knowledge of the foodservice industry.
• Must have forklift license.
• HR license an advantage.
• Must adhere to strict HACCP & Food handling guidelines.
