About the role
We are currently looking for a Plant Operator to join our team in our Kalgoorlie based Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion (ANE) facility. The purpose of this plant is to manufacture the emulsion used in the blasting procedure within the mining and quarrying sectors.
The position is on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster on 12 hour shifts. The successful candidate will be required to reside in Kalgoorlie as FIFO is not offered.
What you will be doing
- Working autonomously and performing all production and administration duties required to enable the chemical manufacturing plant to run at its optimum levels.
- Assisting with plant maintenance tasks whilst maintaining particular emphasis and focus around adhering to all Orica Safety, Health and Environment guidelines.
- This is a varied role where you will be responsible for carrying out physical and labour-intensive duties relating to production and maintenance, and also administrative and computing duties relating to inventory, data and product management.
- Previous experience as a fixed plant operator, preferably within chemical manufacturing.
- Previous manual labouring experience.
- Forklift licence and experience.
- Ability to pass all relevant security checks.
- Trade background would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate strong adherence to safe work practices.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, SAP).
