But did you know we have 23 divisions, 135 sites nationally, employ nearly 3000 people and operate a fleet of over 2300!
We do more than collect the bin from your street, we also convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet inhouse and have our own bespoke technology systems.
Our teams include Drivers/Operators, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, IT/Digital, Environment, Engineering, Industrial Chemists, Safety, Administration and much more . . .

ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in Cannonvale (Whitsundays), we are seeking an Entry Level Operator for our Transfer Station in the area.
You will be a motivated team player with strong communication skills and great safety record – we can teach you the rest!
You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet. We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.
You will enjoy family friendly hours – no more long haul, DIDO or FIFO, as well as great pay rates - particularly for those interested in overtime or additional work!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate onsite plant and equipment as required.
- Take ownership of plant machinery eg. Pre and post start checks
- Direct traffic within the Transfer Station and provide general information to customers as required
- Control the placement of waste and recyclables being deposited by customers, to maximise resource recovery
- Maintain all buildings, grounds, roadways and landscaping - clean and tidy condition at all times
- Undertake general labouring and administrative duties as directed
ABOUT YOU
- 4 days on, 4 days off roster (salary)
- Experience in the waste industry (ideally)
- Strong work ethic with a can-do attitude
- Enjoy working outdoors in a hands-on environment
SKILLS
- HR Truck and Backhoe licence advantageous - don't have one? We can train you!
- A proven safety record and knowledge of safety systems and procedures
- Ability to work in a small team or autonomously
- Experience within the waste industry - highly regarded, but not essential
- Interest and ability to work overtime and weekends
- Be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
