DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager for the AWS Support Ops Integration team.
In this role you will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end. Responsibilities include collection of business requirements from customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams, external teams and partners to develop optimal solutions for new features.
The right candidate will possess a strong technical and program management background, will have successfully managed multi-discipline, highly technical project initiatives, and will have a well-rounded technical background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You should be open to new challenges, extremely good at multi-tasking, innovative, creative, self-directed and a great team player. Candidates should drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional operational and software engineering teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a timely manner.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage cross-team and cross-organization delivery of long-term customer-facing programs
- Work with the product management and engineering team to identify technical requirements, limitations, and bottlenecks
- Create the strategy for, and manage, customer facing feedback programs
- Build, integrate, and maintain reporting for areas of responsibility within existing reporting schemes and mechanisms. Where required, implement new reporting.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders in multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver on agreed upon milestones. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs Plan and coordinate events including facilitation and action item management.
- Implement or enable virtuous continuous improvement cycles in macro team processes.
- Develop, Own, and report on: program goals, performance, efficacy and efficiency to a variety of stakeholders across different technical domains and at varying cadences (weekly / monthly / quarterly) for area of responsibility.
A day in the life
In this role, you will drive a portfolio management roadmap, act as a change agent in the organization by driving operational maturity and implement continuous improvement tools. You will support stakeholders build, test, and deploy cross-functional solutions to address a wide variety of engineering problems. You will take complex problems and break them down into manageable pieces, then ensure timely delivery of solutions. You will identify technical/resource options to successfully deliver and drive adoption of solutions. You will assess costs, benefits and ROI, identify/mitigate risks, manage escalations, and balance business needs with technical constraints.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
