About the role
The Pre-Analytical Supervisor contributes to the efficient and effective operation of Pre-Analytical Services acting as part of the leadership team and is responsible for:
- Supervising the Pre-Analytical Services Team, including managing performance, training/mentoring, managing staff concerns and conducting Performance Reviews
- Monitoring and allocating work according to service needs
- Providing on the job training and mentoring of staff responsible for specimen collection, specimen management and data entry of specimens
- Ensuring pathology requests are processed in a timely manner by deploying staff where needed, troubleshooting and participation in the day to day running of the area
- The oversight of specimen handling in the pre-analytical stage that ensures the delivery of quality samples for testing that leads to the timely diagnosis and treatment of the patient
- In conjunction with the Pre-Analytical Manager, monitor team performance against Key Performance Indicators, and provide feedback to staff on performance measures
- Working within an integrated multidisciplinary team
- Ensuring a high level of customer service and care to patients during the course of duties and by the team, including resolving patient concerns/complaints

Educational/Vocational Qualifications
- Maintains a current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Drivers Licence
