Oral Surgery Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Dental Assistant / Oral Surgery Assistant to join our very friendly, professional team located in Melbourne CBD as well as our branch clinics and assisting in theatre at different hospitals.

This position is available to start immediately and can be a full-time or part-time position, Monday to Friday (no weekend work) on a 76-hour fortnight roster. 

The successful candidate will:

1. Be able to expand their skills and work in a hospital environment (as well as in our clinics). 

2. Can have the opportunity to do Certificate IV in Dental Radiography

3. Well remunerated starting at $36 per hour with a view to $40+ per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Organisational skills are required as some administrative tasks will need to be undertaken in the role
• Surgical assisting under both local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic 
• Provide patients with relevant post operative instructions 
• Liaise with representatives regarding equipment, stock, products etc.
• Disinfect, sterilize, and store equipment after use
• Maintain high infection control standards 
• Stock management

About you: 

• Must have Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or equivalent) 
• Certificate IV would be an advantage but not essential.
• The ability to be a quick learner 
• Proven experience working with patients and offering a high quality of patient care throughout the patient journey and be able to converse with patients in a friendly manner
• Be well presented with a strong work ethic
• Must have excellent communication skills 
• Must be punctual with good time management and organisation skills.
• Be self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team
• Travel to external branch practices and hospitals will be required
