Order Picker / Forklift Driver

Position Overview:

The Order Picker/Forklift Driver is a crucial member of our warehouse team responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling customer orders in a cold room environment. This position involves operating a forklift to move and stack goods, selecting and picking products from inventory, and ensuring all items are prepared for shipment in compliance with safety and quality standards.  

Key Responsibilities:

1. Forklift Operation:
   • Safely operate a forklift to transport materials and products within the cold room.
   • Conduct routine equipment checks, maintenance, and report any issues promptly.
   • Ensure the forklift is operated in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
2. Order Picking:
   • Accurately pick and assemble customer orders using a pick list.
   • Verify the accuracy of items picked, ensuring the correct quantity and quality.
   • Organize and label picked items for shipping.
3. Cold Room Environment:
   • Work comfortably in cold room conditions while adhering to safety protocols and wearing provided protective gear.
   • Maintain awareness of temperature-related safety measures and report any issues promptly.
4. Inventory Management:
   • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by conducting regular cycle counts.
   • Report discrepancies in stock levels to the Warehouse Supervisor.
5. Quality Assurance:
   • Inspect products for damage or defects and report any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
   • Ensure that all products meet quality standards before shipment.
6. Safety and Compliance:
   • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
   • Comply with all company policies and procedures related to safety, sanitation, and food handling.

Qualifications:

• Valid forklift operator's license or certification.
• Proven experience as a Forklift Driver and Order Picker in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to work in a cold room environment for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift objects (up to 20kg)

Working Conditions:

• This position involves working in a cold room environment with temperatures typically 4 degrees.
• Protective clothing and gear will be provided to ensure comfort and safety.
