Are you a leader? Do you love working in OSHC and leading a team? Our newly created Outside School Hours Care Director will oversee and lead the strategic, financial, and operational management of our OSHC services across Tasmania.

The Opportunity

The Outside School Hours Care Director is a Senior Leader role, within the Tasmania Leadership Team and responsible for driving each service’s growth of quality, sustainability, and service delivery. The Director is to support our Service Leaders, to ensure the practices established by each service, facilitates a program consistent with the National Quality Standards and reflects the National Quality Framework, taking our OSHC programs to the next level.

This role will also act as the Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader for OSHC and will be responsible for supporting our Service Leaders in planning and implementing the services educational program to drive each services planning to produce quality play-based educational and leisure programs. 

What’s on offer

About you

  • At least three years of experience managing business operations in a high-level, diverse or complex setting, where driving multiple business objectives was required.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving organisational development and managing change in organisations.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in making sound judgements with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to juggle competing priorities and manage timelines.
  • Experience in people management, including recruitment, supervision, performance management and administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with sound ability to write professional work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of OSHC operational requirements, including demonstration of applied knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child development and quality care practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of My Time, Our Place that is reflected and articulated in programming and reflection on outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in shaping a service delivery and practices to promote growth in quality care, safety, wellbeing and support of children and families accessing a service.
  • Experience in adhering to legislative frameworks and organisational requirements.  
  • Experience in supervising and managing employees, including rostering, and undertaking recruitment and selection activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to the strategic direction of a service’s operations
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates- or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check / Working with Vulnerable Persons Check*

*Must be applicable for the State in which the service operates

  • Diploma of Children’s Services or Equivalent, plus evidence of of additional relevant training and learning is desirable but not essential.
