The role:
An exciting people management opportunity has become available for an Outage Manager to join our high performing team in Khancoban, Murray Region. This role reports to the Manager, Major Overhauls and will be responsible for managing a team of multi discipline Engineers, as well as Technical and Trades people.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Provides major generator and turbine outage subject matter expertise for the planning and execution of site works within Snowy Hydro.
Maintaining a consistent and strong focus on safety and environment and ensure that the systems and processes are put in place to ensure zero harm during site works
Provide expertise and guidance to the teams in the performance of outage tasks, such as the development of: detailed scopes of work, technical specifications, quality requirements and risk assessments.
Manage concurrent or sequential program of work, within the site involving different trades, supervisors and contractors.
Manage inventory and specialist equipment to ensure the appropriate items are available as required
Set context, purpose and role clarity for team members, all stakeholders and external contractors
Improve the performance of direct reports through coaching, mentoring, training, instruction, advice and by direct example.
We're ideally looking for someone with:
Working experience in a similar capacity within the heavy industry.
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Project Management
Must have experience in Site Management, Project Management, Overhaul Management, Turnaround, Shutdown or Maintenance Management.
Extensive background in safety and people leadership managing large scale outages
Project management experience, including the management of stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience managing work scope and budgets.
Superior knowledge of Quality, OH&S, EEO and Environmental policies, procedures and standards.
