Location: Perth, WA (Mobile based with office base in West Perth and work from home opportunities).
Functional Therapy Co. is searching for a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our experienced dynamic team.
Company overview: Functional Therapy Co was established in 2022 by one of our Occupational Therapists. We are passionate providing quality care to our clients and hold a particularly strong emphasis on neuroaffirming practice.
Role Overview: As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality therapeutic services to children and adolescents within the Perth metro and surrounds. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions that promote functional independence and well-being for private and NDIS clients. Experience working with teenagers and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) is essential, as you will be supporting clients across a broad age range.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate sensory, motor, and developmental skills.
- Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to enhance occupational performance.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal client outcomes.
- Write high-level Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) for Paediatric age ranges.
- Provide education and support to families on therapeutic strategies and home programs.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Full registration (no limitations) with the AHPRA.
- Proven experience in Paediatric Occupational Therapy (minimum 3 years experience)
- NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children Check, WA (WWCC)
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
- Full driver's license.
- Experience using telehealth and Microsoft Suite.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable:
- Designing and facilitating group programs.
- First Aid & CPR Certificate.
