Job description

About Us

Welcome to Paediatric Potentials, where we transcend the boundaries of traditional Occupational Therapy to offer an environment that champions both personal and professional growth. As we celebrate over a decade of service in Brisbane, our purpose-built, state-of-the-art clinic serves as a beacon of innovation, support, and excellence. Here, we're not just about providing exceptional care to our young clients; we're dedicated to fostering an enriching workplace that nurtures the well-being and advancement of our team members.

Welcome to Our Purpose-Built Clinic: Step into our state-of-the-art clinic, purpose-built to support the unique needs of our young clients. With dedicated gross motor rooms, a versatile training space, and a staff lounge that's more like a cosy retreat with a big-screen TV, bean bags, and comfy couches, you'll have the ideal setting to excel in your role.

A Culture of Continuous Learning and Support: We're not just entering our 10th year in Brisbane; we're entering a new decade of excellence. Our senior team, led by the Director and seasoned therapists with 10-25 years of experience, will be your mentors and guides. You'll enjoy regular fortnightly in-house team lunches, professional development opportunities, formal supervision sessions, and senior support on-demand. At Paediatric Potentials, we believe in investing in your growth.

Convenience Matters: Forget the hassles of finding parking – we offer free on-site parking for our team members. Our location is also conveniently close to Westfield Garden City, with a range of restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets just a short walk away. It's not just a workplace; it's a convenient hub of daily life.

Dedicated to Empowering Children: At the heart of it all, our mission is to empower children. We understand that each child is unique, and we take a tailored approach to help them reach their full potential. Whether it's through NDIS, Medicare, or private health services, our team of experts is committed to providing individualised care and support. Join us in making a profound difference in the lives of children while furthering your career as an Occupational Therapist.

Join Your Team for Pre-work Pilates or Hit the Gym Nearby: Join some of your fellow team members and kickstart your day with a refreshing Pilates class before work. Alternatively, if you prefer to break a sweat, you'll find Jetts Fitness at The Village and Goodlife just minutes away. We believe in promoting a healthy work-life balance and encourage you to make the most of these convenient fitness options to keep your mind and body in top shape. At Paediatric Potentials, we're not just about enhancing the lives of children; we're committed to nurturing the well-being of our team members as well.

Elevating Your Career with Structured Growth and Diverse Opportunities: At the core of our practice is a unique and structured approach to professional development, characterised by our use of health professional levels. These levels are meticulously designed with key performance indicators (KPIs) that not only evaluate clinical skills and therapeutic effectiveness but also embrace a variety of additional interests that our team members are passionate about. Whether your enthusiasm lies in joining our outreach team, facilitating student placements, providing staff support, engaging in content creation and social media management, or leading group programs, our system acknowledges and promotes your multifaceted contributions to our practice and community.

This comprehensive framework ensures a personalised and rewarding career path, allowing you to align your professional growth with your individual strengths and areas of interest. Our annual review process, inclusive of salary evaluations, underscores our dedication to celebrating your clinical excellence and broader contributions, affirming our commitment to your continuous advancement and the recognition of your hard work at every level from 1-4.

Multiple Roles Available

Multiple roles available to suit level of experience and your career goals.

What we do for YOU
  • Your own office from day one - we understand the importance of having your own space. Make it yours with those little personal touches and create a space that your clients will come to know and love! Forget the hassle of booking shared therapy rooms!
  • Effortless administration - Our Reception Team looks after the scheduling and rescheduling of all our appointments, with therapists not having to worry about managing their own calendars.
  • Achievable targets - All of our therapists work towards managing 5 client contact hours per day.
  • Balanced workload - Client sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes (face-to-face) followed by 15 minutes of non-contact/documentation time for you to complete any necessary documentation (progress notes, emails, planning etc).
  • Dedicated documentation time - Additional non-contact time (to complete reports, letters, progress notes, emails etc), is factored into each day.
  • Scheduled supervisions - Fortnightly formal supervision with a senior OT.
  • Team-oriented culture - Weekly BUZZ meetings to share successes, challenges and current focus for the week.
  • Ongoing training - Weekly Professional Development.
  • Support on-demand - Daily access to Senior Staff support.
Staff can book time daily with senior OTs to discuss client-related questions, offering an additional layer of support alongside scheduled supervision sessions. Our team of Senior Staff all have between 10-25 years of professional experience!
  • Staff well-being - Fortnightly catered team events (team lunch, team drinks, birthday celebrations), Wellness Wednesday, end of term activities/dinners, themed charity support days and more.

The Role - Graduate & Experienced OTs
  • Assessing and treating children, adolescents, and young adults with various needs.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders involved in the child's care.

  • Off-site visits (eg. daycare, kindy, school, equipment providers, and homes), are arranged on an as-needed basis. If required, they are scheduled in the morning, to ensure therapist access to senior OTs for support and facilitate daily collaboration with colleagues in the office.

  • Working collaboratively with the Director and Senior OT team to create programs, resources, and workplace efficiencies
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately, confidentially, and is maintained at all times.
