Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Grow With Me Occupational Therapy (OT) is a mobile paediatric Occupational Therapy service. 

While our therapists are located across South-East Melbourne and Gippsland, we are committed to providing quality services in rural and regional areas of Victoria where there are often less supports available to children and families with additional needs. 

Our Occupational Therapists travel to families at home, school or kindergarten to assess and provide therapy services to children aged 0-18. Our caseload consists of mostly children with Autism Spectrum Disorder with NDIS funding so experience in this area is highly regarded. 

We are looking for a mobile paediatric OT from South-East Melbourne or Gippsland to service families in the Gippsland region in either a part-time, full time or contractor capacity. We service Pakenham, Traralgon, Leongatha, Wonthaggi and in-between, but our biggest waitlisted area right now is in Drouin, Warragul and the Latrobe Valley. Clients are allocated as close as possible to our OT's location and capped at 1 hour so applicants within an hour of any area in our service zone are encouraged to apply. All travel is fully reimbursed at a generous rate.

We would ideally like someone who can work 1-4 days in Gippsland per week, with notes, reports, planning and supervision done on a separate ‘admin day’ from home. Group programs are run over 1 week of every school holidays and offer the team opportunity to work together and break up their caseload.

We now also have a brand-new clinic opening up at the end of June. Our clinic is based in Longwarry and will be largely used for group programs as well as some client 1:1 support and our team base. As we develop and begin to utilise this resource, the possibilities are wide open to negotiate the schedule that would best suit you. Work completely from the office, completely on the road/ from home, or a combination of both. Options to set up your own special interest group to run in the afternoons after seeing a few clients in the morning or similar would be encouraged. We are open to anything and everything during this period of restructuring and building our service to better meet the needs of the community.
 

-Very attractive hourly rate ($80,000 - $115,000) based on experience.

-Travel allowance or optional vehicle for full-time mobile staff. 

-Hybrid, work from home and on the road, OR in clinic with admin support provided remotely.

-Fortnightly external supervision and fortnightly peer supervision with your team. 

-Annual $2500 CPD budget, pro rata. 

-All resources required for role – laptop, printer and laminator (if required), personal mobile therapy kit, access to bigger equipment, resources and assessments shared between the team.

-Family-friendly organisation with paid parental leave.

-3-week shutdown over Xmas/ New Year period.

-Friendly and supportive small team environment with team days and/or social events at least once per term,

-Help set up and run group programs during school holidays and develop new ones to run through the term. We are in a stage of expansion and growth and are opening to supporting the development and special interests of our team. 

-All invoicing, waitlist management and advertising managed by Practice Manager and Director so that you can focus on your clients!

-Very flexible position, perfect for working around a family or other roles. Can negotiate school holidays off or reduced/ increased hours while we run group programs. Find that work-life balance!

We are looking for someone who will be committed to the role ongoing and a team player. We are a small team who offer peer supervision to one another based on our differing experience and expertise as well as scheduled external supervision. Senior positions available to incorporate supervision of junior staff and students, and development of groups. Therapists with varying levels of experience welcome to apply but a high degree of autonomy is required within the role.
