At AMA Collision Phillip, we are a quality focused workshop, driven to providing the highest calibre of collision repairs.

Our welcoming team of 28 consists of long serving team-members complimented by a new crew upcoming. The specialist team complete a variety of repairs from small to large in our 2 spacious sites including 5 spray booths and 3 Car-O-Liner systems.

We are centrally located close to public transport and offer great staff facilities including 2 lunchrooms and site heating.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Panel Team Trainer to join the AMA Collision team.

This position will see you based at either our Phillip or Mitchell location, but with travel required to other AMA workshop locations in ACT and NSW as required.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for developing, coaching and providing our wider panel workshop teams and management, including apprentices and new panel employees with additional skills-based training.

Additional OEM and ICar Training offered as part of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the panel shop team, ensuring they work efficiently and effectively to meet production goals
  • Assign tasks to the panel shop team members, considering their skills, strengths, and workloads to optimise productivity
  • Lead and facilitate training and assessments that comply with legislative, OEM industry standards and AMA requirements
  • Maintain training records and documentation in line with legislation, compliance, and auditing requirements
  • Report directly to the State Area Manager, providing regular updates on the status of ongoing projects, team performance, and any issues that may arise
  • Participate in weekly walk arounds of the workshop with the Production Manager to assess progress, identify challenges, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Take images of work in progress and upload them to the job record, ensuring that records are kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties
  • Assist in upskilling the panel shop team by providing training, guidance, and mentoring to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure that repairs and restorations meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of panel shop tools, equipment, and repair techniques
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
