We are currently working with some of the most exciting organisations in Australia, including the Entity, a federal government department that delivers programs and services to support people with disability, their families and carers.
Your new role
As a Communication Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for developing and implementing communication plans and strategies for a rewarding program. You will:
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication plans and strategies for a rewarding program
- Draft communication content for various audiences, which may include social media and web content, communication and stakeholder products, videos and accessible communication materials
- Coordinate clearances of strategic communications products such as fact sheets and event information kits
- Monitor and report on the implementation of strategic communication initiatives
- Coordinate procurement activities and assist with managing communication budgets, invoicing and records management
- Administrative tasks such as scheduling team meetings, coordinating reports and answering inbox enquiries
- Provide support to Communication Account Managers as required
- Other duties as directed by the Entity
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in a public affairs or communication role, or possess relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism, communication, marketing or related fields
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and channels
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and understanding of accessibility and inclusion principles and practices
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (baseline, NV1 or NV2)
