Closing Date: 11.30pm, Friday 7th June 2024About the OpportunityThe Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is seeking to establish a pool of ASO3 paralegals to fill short- term vacancies (of up to 12 months) as they arise within the Office.The Paralegal Officer works within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) providing a legal support service to the Solicitor teams of the Office. A Paralegal Officer may be qualified as a solicitor or have gained specific knowledge of the law through education and/or work experience. The role involves the performance of legal-related work under the direction of a solicitor such as undertaking legal research, preparing draft correspondence and court documents, performing administrative tasks (filing, copying, scanning etc), analysing and summarising documents, fact checking and assisting practitioners prepare prosecution matters and run trials.About the BusinessThe ODPP is an office of approximately 135 staff, comprising both legal and administrative functions. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was established through the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, 1991 to provide an effective, fair and independent criminal prosecution service for the people of South Australia.
